[12.01.2009] CBAWO researcher Melissa Lafreniere and educator Linda Lamoureux are travelling to Resolute to present material at Qarmartalik School and to the community.
[05.01.2009] We are getting ready for the 2009 season. We will be focusing on the impact of permafrost disruption on river and sediment flows, lake processes, vegetation disturbances, SAR mapping of snowpack and soil moisture, as well as continuing to collect full season data sets for rivers, weather, lakes, vegetation, soil conditions and contaminants.
[10.07.2008] Our AirX 400 wind turbine has been a success! We can generate
enough power to run computers, pumps and a sample freezer. So far, the backup
generator has only been used a few times this season when winds have been
calm.
[21.06.2008] Monitoring of 2007 active layer detachments has begun with
the 2008 melt season. What were once vegetated slopes with no channels have
been transformed into turbid streams. Click here for a photograph of these

[03.06.2008] Researchers Elyn Humphreys and Peter Lafleur from Carleton and Trent Universities, respectively, establish a carbon flux tower at Cape Bounty. The station is now up and running.
[14.05.2008] M.Sc. student Hilary Dugan (Queen's) awarded the Campbell Scientific Poster Award at the Canadian Geophysical Union Annual Meeting in Banff, Alberta, for her research investigating the impact of heavy 2007 rainfall on the Cape Bounty system. Congratulations Hilary!
