Research Interest
Geographies of immigration, feminist geography, ‘race’ and
racism, gender and emotional geographies, sense of place, and photo-geographical
research methods.
Research
Master’s project: “Mapping Vulnerability, Picturing Place:
Women negotiating safety in the post-(im)migration phase.” This
project incorporated a variety of research methods including: interviews,
questionnaires, focus group/photovoice workshops, and a group exercise
that mapped red (danger) and green (safe) zones in cities of residence.
The participatory action research project participants also participated
in a series of photography exhibitions. The exhibition was entitled: “Emotional
Places, Paradoxical Spaces.”
