The Final Report for
the H & E study as well as the 4 workshop reports are now available. Please see
the Publications page to order on-line. Papers presented at the workshops may be
accessed by opening them from the program listing for each workshop.
Workshops
Workshop 1: Health and Climate Variability - took place in The Netherlands 24
- 26 September 1999 with Dr. Pim Martens as the local organiser.
Workshop
2: Health and Resources - took place in Jamaica 12
- 14 November, 1999 with Professor Elizabeth Thomas-Hope as the local organiser.
Workshop 3: Health and Urbanisation - took place in India 4 - 6 October, 1999
with Professor Sunita Narain as the local organiser.
Workshop 4: Health Research Methods and Data - took place in Finland 22 - 25
July, 1999 with Professor Markku Löytönen as the local organiser.
To make this a global
program of research, one workshop will be held in The Netherlands, one in Jamaica,
one in India and one in Finland. The exact locations have been determined by using a
set of criteria including the identification of a willing local organiser, timing and
congruence with the workshop theme and sub-themes to be addressed.
Workshop Participants
To ensure continuity in selection
and format for each workshop, at least one steering committee member will attend each
workshop, and steering committee members will work directly with the local organiser in
identifying participants. Each workshop will be made up of approximately 15 invited
participants.
Completion
Assuming a start date of January
1999, we expect to complete the workshops by the end of November 1999, and submit the
final report early in 2000. Dissemination of position papers, workshop reports and
the final report will be supported by Queen's University after 1999.
