Researcher Investigating Biogeochemical Cycling in Snow and Ice Covered
Environments"
Dr. Melissa Lafrenière has been awarded grants from the Canada Foundation
for Innovation (CFI) New Opportunities program and the Ontario Ministry
of Research and Innovation in support of her Cold Regions Biogeochemical
Research program. The funding will be used to establish an analytical
laboratory for the measurement and characterization of inorganic and
organic chemistry of solutes in dilute waters, and to purchase field
equipment and instrumentation for recording and measuring meteorological
and hydrological conditions in alpine and arctic environments. For
more information on Dr. Lafrenière's research, planned facilities
and student research opportunities visit her website: http://www.geog.queensu.ca/lafreniere/. |
